How Phenylpropanolamine, Bromhexine, and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide Work Phenylpropanolamine, Bromhexine, and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a combination of three medications: Phenylpropanolamine, Bromhexine, and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. Phenylpropanolamine is a decongestant that narrows small blood vessels, providing relief from nasal congestion or stuffiness. Bromhexine is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough up. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that alleviates cough by reducing the activity of the cough center in the brain.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Phenylpropanolamine, Bromhexine, and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide include nausea, diarrhea, bloating, indigestion, headache, dizziness, sweating, high blood pressure, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), palpitations, skin rash, and upset stomach.
