Pembrolizumab is used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer, head and neck cancer, melanoma, and cervical cancer.

How it Works

How Pembrolizumab works Pembrolizumab is an anti-cancer medication. It functions in certain cancers by engaging the immune system, thereby activating T-cell mediated immune responses against tumor cells.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Pembrolizumab include fatigue, musculoskeletal pain (bone, muscle, or joint), decreased appetite, itching, diarrhea, nausea, rash, fever, cough, indigestion, constipation, and stomach pain.

  • Pembrolizumab helps your immune system fight various cancers, including those of the head, neck, lung, and skin.
  • It is typically administered through an infusion into your vein (IV) for approximately 30 minutes, every 3 weeks, by your doctor.
  • This medication may cause fatigue or weakness.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery unless you are confident you are feeling well.
  • Use effective birth control measures during treatment and for at least 4 months after your last dose, as it can harm an unborn baby.
  • Do not discontinue treatment without consulting your doctor first.
