How Midostaurin works Midostaurin functions by inhibiting the action of the abnormal protein that stimulates the proliferation of cancer cells. This mechanism helps to prevent the spread of mast cells and cancer cells.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Midostaurin include febrile neutropenia, nausea, mucositis, vomiting, headache, petechiae (red or purple spots caused by bleeding into the skin), musculoskeletal pain (bone, muscle, or joint), nosebleeds, infection, increased blood glucose levels, and upper respiratory tract infection.

Take Midostaurin exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Your doctor may prescribe medications to help prevent nausea and vomiting during treatment with Midostaurin.
Take Midostaurin with food.
