How Racecadotril, Ofloxacin, and Metronidazole Work Racecadotril, Ofloxacin, and Metronidazole is a combination of three medications used to treat diarrhea. Racecadotril has an anti-secretory effect, reducing the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine, which decreases fluid loss during diarrhea. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Metronidazole is also an antibiotic that targets other microorganisms in addition to bacteria by damaging their DNA. Together, these medications effectively treat your infection.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Racecadotril, Ofloxacin, and Metronidazole include headache, metallic taste, dryness in the mouth, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness, rash, itching, loss of appetite, and skin rash.
