Side Effects

Common side effects of Zotepine include headache, dry mouth, sleepiness, anxiety, weight gain, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), agitation, sweating, blurred vision, depression, constipation, and increased heart rate.

Expert Advice

Take it at the same time every day to help you remember to take it.
You may be monitored with ECG, electrolytes, and liver function tests before starting treatment with this medicine and while increasing the dose.
To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
Use caution while driving or performing tasks that require concentration, as Zotepine can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
It may increase your weight, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels.
Eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and monitor your blood levels consistently.
Inform your doctor if you experience any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts or behavior.
Do not stop taking Zotepine without consulting your doctor first, as it may lead to a worsening of symptoms.
