Vincristine and Mannitol are used in the treatment of cancer.
How Vincristine and Mannitol work Vincristine and Mannitol is a combination of two medicines. Vincristine is an anticancer medication that works by inhibiting the duplication of genetic materials (DNA and RNA) required for the growth and multiplication of cancer cells. The addition of Mannitol facilitates the entry of Vincristine into the brain by opening the blood-brain barrier, allowing it to act against cancer cells.
Common side effects of Vincristine and Mannitol include constipation, nausea, fever, fatigue, peripheral neuropathy (tingling and numbness in the hands and feet), febrile neutropenia, diarrhea, anemia (low red blood cell count), decreased appetite, and insomnia (difficulty sleeping).
