How Loteprednol etabonate and Tobramycin work Loteprednol etabonate and Tobramycin is a combination of two medications: Loteprednol etabonate and Tobramycin. Loteprednol etabonate is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause the eye to become red, swollen, and itchy. Tobramycin is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth in the eye by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to perform vital functions.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Loteprednol etabonate and Tobramycin include superficial punctate keratitis, increased intraocular pressure, burning sensation in the eye, stinging in the eyes, and headache.

- Loteprednol etabonate + Tobramycin is used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections.
- Apply to the affected areas as a thin film, two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
- Do not use it more often or for longer than directed by your doctor.
- Avoid applying to broken skin and do not get it in your eyes, nose, or mouth.
- Do not cover the treated area with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
- Possible side effects include temporary burning, itching, or redness at the application site, which is usually mild.

- Inform your doctor if your skin problem has not improved after seven days of treatment.
