How Ofloxacin, Metronidazole, and Lactic Acid Bacillus Work Ofloxacin, Metronidazole, and Lactic Acid Bacillus is a combination of three medicines: Ofloxacin, Metronidazole, and Lactic Acid Bacillus. Ofloxacin and Metronidazole are both antibiotics that function in different ways. Ofloxacin works by inhibiting the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase, which prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, ultimately leading to their death. Metronidazole eliminates bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Lactic Acid Bacillus is a probiotic that helps restore the balance of beneficial bacteria in the intestine, which may be disrupted after antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections. Together, these components effectively eradicate infections.
