How Ketoconazole and Piroctone Olamine work Ketoconazole and Piroctone Olamine is a combination of two antifungal medications that treat dandruff. Ketoconazole eliminates fungi by disrupting the fungal cell membrane. Piroctone Olamine penetrates the cell membrane of the fungi, interfering with their energy metabolism and oxygen uptake. This process kills the fungi and resolves the infection.
