How Insulin Glargine and Lixisenatide Work Insulin glargine and lixisenatide is a combination of two antidiabetic medications. Insulin aids in moving sugar from the blood into other tissues for energy use. Additionally, lixisenatide slows gastric emptying and reduces appetite.
