Iguratimod

Uses

Iguratimod is used in the treatment of ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, Wilson's disease, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

How it Works

How Iguratimod works Iguratimod is a disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD). It improves the abnormal immunological response and suppresses the production of substances that cause inflammation, such as redness and swelling, in rheumatoid arthritis.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Iguratimod include diarrhea, nausea, rash, abdominal pain, vomiting, stomatitis (inflammation of the mouth), photosensitivity, decreased appetite, itching, hives, nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the throat and nasal passages), increased aspartate aminotransferase, increased alanine aminotransferase, and aplastic anemia.
