How Hyoscine butylbromide and Mefenamic Acid work Hyoscine butylbromide and Mefenamic Acid is a combination of two medicines: Hyoscine butylbromide and Mefenamic Acid, which relieve abdominal pain and cramps. Hyoscine butylbromide is an anticholinergic that relaxes the muscles in the stomach and intestines, stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms). This action helps alleviate cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers responsible for pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Side Effects

Common side effects of Hyoscine butylbromide and Mefenamic Acid include nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, heartburn, vertigo, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), hypotension (low blood pressure), tachycardia, sweating, constipation, increased liver enzymes, increased white blood cell count (eosinophils), decreased white blood cell count (lymphocytes), low blood platelets, purpura, agranulocytosis (deficiency of granulocytes in the blood), breathlessness, tinnitus (ringing in the ear), diarrhea, abdominal pain, flatulence, dyspepsia, gastritis, confusion, and depression.
