How Spironolactone and Hydroflumethiazide work Spironolactone and Hydroflumethiazide is a combination of two diuretics: Spironolactone and Hydroflumethiazide. They work by removing excess water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, Hydroflumethiazide also relaxes blood vessels but causes potassium loss. Spironolactone is included to conserve potassium, thereby balancing its levels in the body.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Spironolactone and Hydroflumethiazide include diarrhea, upset stomach, electrolyte imbalance, breast enlargement in males, increased blood uric acid levels, elevated blood lipid levels, glucose intolerance, impotence, and irregular menstrual cycles.
