Common side effects of Ramipril and Hydrochlorothiazide include headache, dizziness, glucose intolerance, increased uric acid levels in the blood, cough, and fatigue.

Expert Advice

  • You have been prescribed Ramipril + Hydrochlorothiazide for the treatment of high blood pressure.
  • This medication also lowers your risk of stroke and heart attack.
  • Take it in the morning with breakfast to avoid frequent urination at night.
  • Ramipril + Hydrochlorothiazide may cause dizziness or sleepiness.
  • Avoid driving or engaging in activities requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
  • To reduce the chance of feeling dizzy or fainting, rise slowly after sitting or lying down.
  • Inform your doctor about any persistent cough or throat irritation.
  • Ramipril + Hydrochlorothiazide may lead to dehydration.
  • Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if you experience extreme thirst, muscle weakness, or a very dry mouth.
  • Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure, kidney function, and the levels of electrolytes such as potassium in your blood while you are taking this medication.
  • Do not take Ramipril + Hydrochlorothiazide if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as it can cause birth defects or be fatal to your unborn baby.
