Side Effects

Common side effects of Ramipril and Hydrochlorothiazide include headache, dizziness, glucose intolerance, increased uric acid levels in the blood, cough, and fatigue.

Expert Advice

You have been prescribed Ramipril + Hydrochlorothiazide for the treatment of high blood pressure.
This medication also lowers your risk of stroke and heart attack.
Take it in the morning with breakfast to avoid frequent urination at night.
Ramipril + Hydrochlorothiazide may cause dizziness or sleepiness.
Avoid driving or engaging in activities requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
To reduce the chance of feeling dizzy or fainting, rise slowly after sitting or lying down.
Inform your doctor about any persistent cough or throat irritation.
Ramipril + Hydrochlorothiazide may lead to dehydration.
Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if you experience extreme thirst, muscle weakness, or a very dry mouth.
Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure, kidney function, and the levels of electrolytes such as potassium in your blood while you are taking this medication.
Do not take Ramipril + Hydrochlorothiazide if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as it can cause birth defects or be fatal to your unborn baby.
