How Ramipril, Losartan, and Hydrochlorothiazide Work Ramipril, Losartan, and Hydrochlorothiazide is a combination of three medications that effectively lower blood pressure. Ramipril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by reducing stress on the heart and relaxing blood vessels. Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that inhibits the hormone angiotensin, further relaxing blood vessels. Together, these medications allow blood to flow more smoothly and enable the heart to pump more efficiently. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that removes excess water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time, it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Ramipril, Losartan, and Hydrochlorothiazide include nausea, changes in taste, diarrhea, stomach pain, indigestion, weakness, headache, dizziness, cough, increased blood uric acid levels, elevated blood lipid levels, glucose intolerance, and decreased blood pressure.
