Hyaluronidase is used as a preservative.
How it Works
Hyaluronidase works by increasing the permeability of connective tissue through the hydrolysis of hyaluronic acid. It hydrolyzes hyaluronic acid by splitting the glucosaminidic bond between C1 of the glucosamine moiety and C4 of glucuronic acid. This process temporarily decreases the viscosity of the cellular cement and enhances the diffusion of injected fluids or localized transudates and exudates, thereby facilitating their absorption.
