How Halobetasol and Mupirocin work Halobetasol and Mupirocin is a combination of two medicines that treat skin infections. Halobetasol is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for making the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Mupirocin is an antibiotic that kills the bacteria causing skin infections by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins necessary for bacterial survival. Thus, it helps prevent the spread of the skin infection.

Common side effects of Halobetasol and Mupirocin include application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness.

- Halobetasol + Mupirocin must be applied as a thin layer on the affected area as prescribed by your doctor.
