Glycopyrrolate and Neostigmine Uses: Glycopyrrolate and Neostigmine are used for the reversal of the effects of skeletal muscle relaxants after surgery. They reverse the effects of anesthetics and muscle relaxants during surgery.

How it Works

How Glycopyrrolate and Neostigmine Work Glycopyrrolate and Neostigmine is a combination of two medications: Glycopyrrolate and Neostigmine. Neostigmine is a cholinesterase inhibitor used at the end of surgery to reverse the effects of certain medications administered during the procedure, such as muscle relaxants and anesthetics. Glycopyrrolate is an anticholinergic added to prevent the unwanted effects of Neostigmine, including decreased heart rate and excessive saliva production.

suffer from asthma attacks, wheezing, or difficulty in breathing
have low or high blood pressure
suffer from cardiac arrhythmia (irregular heartbeats) or a slow heart rate
have a history of coronary artery disease or a heart attack
are suffering from epilepsy or Parkinsonism (a disorder in the brain causing muscle stiffness and shaking)
suffer from myasthenia gravis (a disease resulting in severe muscle weakness and fatigue)
suffer from stomach ulcers
suffer from obstruction of the stomach (pyloric stenosis) or bowel, causing vomiting, abdominal pain, and swelling (paralytic ileus)
are pregnant or breastfeeding

Glycopyrrolate + Neostigmine should be used with caution in elderly people.
