Gemifloxacin Uses Gemifloxacin is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is effective for infections of the urinary tract, tonsils, sinuses, nose, throat, female genital organs, skin and soft tissues, and lungs (pneumonia).

How Gemifloxacin works Gemifloxacin is an antibiotic that functions by inhibiting the action of a bacterial enzyme known as DNA-gyrase. This action prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, ultimately leading to their death.
