How it Works

Gatifloxacin and Loteprednol etabonate work together as a combination of two medications: Gatifloxacin and Loteprednol etabonate. Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic that eliminates bacteria in the eye by inhibiting their ability to reproduce and repair themselves, thereby treating the infection. Loteprednol etabonate is a steroid that blocks the production of specific chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for causing redness, swelling, and itching in the eye.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Gatifloxacin and Loteprednol etabonate include erythema (skin redness), conjunctival irritation, increased lacrimation, corneal inflammation, and papillary conjunctivitis.

  • Gatifloxacin + Loteprednol etabonate must be used according to the dose and duration recommended by your doctor.
  • If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before administering these eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting your lenses.
