Mometasone is a steroid that functions by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers responsible for causing inflammation (swelling) in the airways. Together, these medications make breathing easier.

Common side effects of Formoterol and Mometasone include nausea, vomiting, respiratory tract infection, fungal infection of the mouth, headache, hoarseness of voice, sore throat, cough, musculoskeletal pain (bone, muscle, or joint), and increased heart rate.

  • This medicine is intended for inhalation only; the tablet should not be swallowed.

  • Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood potassium levels, as low oxygen levels in the blood (hypoxia) and medications like Formoterol + Mometasone can lower blood potassium levels.
  • Only minuscule amounts of Formoterol + Mometasone may be absorbed into the bloodstream after inhalation; therefore, serious side effects are unlikely.
