How Fluoxetine and Olanzapine work: Fluoxetine and Olanzapine is a combination of two medications. They work by increasing the activity of certain chemicals in the brain, specifically serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. These chemicals help alleviate the symptoms of bipolar depression.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Fluoxetine and Olanzapine include weight gain, sleepiness, dryness of the mouth, edema (swelling), ecchymosis (discoloration of the skin resulting from bleeding underneath), memory loss, and breast pain.

You have been prescribed Fluoxetine + Olanzapine for the treatment of bipolar disorder with depression.
Take the medication in the evening, as it may cause drowsiness.
It may take 4 to 6 weeks to experience the full benefits of the medication.
Avoid driving or engaging in activities requiring concentration until you understand how it affects you.
The medication may cause an increase in weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, and triglycerides (fat).
