Tobramycin is an antibiotic that stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to perform vital functions. Fluorometholone is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for making the affected area red, swollen, and itchy.
