How Neomycin and Fluorometholone work Neomycin and Fluorometholone is a combination of two medicines: Neomycin and Fluorometholone. Neomycin is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth in the eye by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria for vital functions. Fluorometholone is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for making the eye red, swollen, and itchy.

Neomycin + Fluorometholone is used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections.
It should be applied to the affected areas as a thin film, two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
Do not use it more frequently or for a longer duration than prescribed by your doctor.
Avoid applying it to broken skin and refrain from getting it in your eyes, nose, or mouth.
Do not cover the treated area with airtight dressings, such as bandages, unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
It may cause temporary burning, itching, or redness at the application site, which is usually mild.

Inform your doctor if your skin problem has not improved after seven days of treatment.
