How Pitavastatin and Fenofibrate Work Pitavastatin and fenofibrate is a combination of two lipid-lowering medications: Pitavastatin and fenofibrate. Pitavastatin prevents your body from producing "bad" cholesterol (LDL), while fenofibrate lowers the levels of triglycerides in your blood. Both medications increase the levels of "good" cholesterol (HDL).
