How Ethamsylate and Mefenamic Acid Work Ethamsylate and Mefenamic Acid is a combination of two medicines: Ethamsylate and Mefenamic Acid. Ethamsylate is an antifibrinolytic that works by preventing the breakdown of clots, thereby controlling excessive bleeding during menstruation. Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Side Effects

Common side effects of Ethamsylate and Mefenamic Acid include skin rash, headache, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, indigestion, diarrhea, and loss of appetite.
