How Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Ethambutol, and Pyrazinamide work: Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Ethambutol, and Pyrazinamide is a combination of four medications.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Ethambutol, and Pyrazinamide include nausea, vomiting, peripheral neuropathy (tingling and numbness in the feet and hands), abdominal pain, skin rash, hepatitis (viral infection of the liver), lethargy, low blood platelets, joint pain, thrombocytopenic purpura, cutaneous reactions, and retrobulbar optic neuritis.

You have been prescribed Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Ethambutol, and Pyrazinamide for the treatment of tuberculosis.
Take the medication on an empty stomach and preferably at the same time every day.
Avoid missing a dose, as this increases the risk of the bacteria becoming resistant to the medication and may also heighten the risk of side effects.
The medication may cause discoloration of your urine, sweat, saliva, and tears, resulting in a reddish/orange color. This is normal and not harmful.

Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within at least two hours of taking the medication.
Complete the full course of the medication, even if you feel better. Stopping treatment early increases the risk of the infection returning.
