Epinastine is used in the treatment of allergic eye disease, nasal allergy symptoms, allergic conditions, sneezing, and runny nose due to allergies, as well as allergic skin conditions.

How Epinastine works Epinastine is an antihistamine medication that treats allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, and rashes by blocking the effects of the chemical messenger histamine in the body.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Epinastine include burning sensation in the eye, itching, folliculitis, hyperemia, cold symptoms, and upper respiratory tract infection.

- Your doctor has prescribed Epinastine to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) due to allergies of the eye.
- It is effective for short-term or sudden allergic reactions in the eye.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
- A stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 minutes; notify your doctor if it persists longer.
- Ensure to use the medication within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
- Epinastine helps relieve allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, and rashes.
- Compared to other similar medications, it is much less likely to cause drowsiness.
- Exercise caution while driving or performing tasks that require concentration, as it may cause dizziness and sleepiness.
- Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication, as it may increase sleepiness.
- Discontinue Epinastine at least three days before undergoing an allergy test, as it may affect the test results.
