Eflornithine is used in the treatment of facial hirsutism.

Eflornithine works by inhibiting the activity of a chemical that is involved in the production of facial hair.

Expert Advice

Eflornithine should be applied twice daily to the affected area.
Before each application, wash the affected area with soap and water and dry thoroughly.
Maintain a gap of at least 8 hours between each application.
Avoid washing your face for a period of 4 hours after application.
Prevent contact with the eyes, mouth, or nose.
