How Diloxanide and Tinidazole Work Diloxanide and Tinidazole is a combination of two medicines: Diloxanide and Tinidazole. Diloxanide is an amoebicide that works within the large intestine to eliminate the amoeba (parasites) responsible for the infection. Tinidazole is an antibiotic that targets bacteria and other microorganisms causing infections by damaging their DNA.

Common side effects of Diloxanide and Tinidazole include nausea, headache, dry mouth, metallic taste, and flatulence.

Expert Advice

Diloxanide + Tinidazole should be taken with food at the same time every day.
It is advisable to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to mitigate side effects.
Do not skip doses and complete the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better.
Stopping the medication early may increase your risk of further infection.
Exercise caution while driving or engaging in activities that require concentration, as this medication may cause dizziness and sleepiness.
Avoid alcohol during treatment and for 2-3 days after completing the course.
Possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, flushing, and headache.
Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, as your dose may need to be adjusted in cases of severe liver disease.
