How Dicyclomine, Magaldrate, Oxetacaine, and Simethicone Work Dicyclomine, Magaldrate, Oxetacaine, and Simethicone is a combination of four medicines: Dicyclomine, Magaldrate, Oxetacaine, and Simethicone. Dicyclomine is an antispasmodic that works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach and intestines, stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms). This action relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Magaldrate is an inorganic salt that neutralizes excess stomach acid. Oxetacaine is a local anesthetic that provides rapid relief from pain caused by ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach. Simethicone is an antifoaming agent that breaks down gas bubbles, facilitating the easy passage of gas.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Dicyclomine, Magaldrate, Oxetacaine, and Simethicone include nausea, chalky taste, diarrhea, constipation, dryness in the mouth, vomiting, fecal impaction (hardened stool that remains stuck in the rectum or lower colon), rebound hyperacidity, decreased phosphate levels in the blood, increased magnesium levels in the blood, milk-alkali syndrome, softening of bones, aluminum intoxication, muscle weakness, encephalopathy, and hypersensitivity reactions.
