How it Works
How Ofloxacin, Dexamethasone, and Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose work Ofloxacin, Dexamethasone, and Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a combination of three medicines: Ofloxacin, Dexamethasone, and Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Dexamethasone is a steroid medication that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause redness, swelling, and itching in the eye or ear. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricating agent that moistens the eyes or ears.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Ofloxacin, Dexamethasone, and Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose include eye irritation and eye discomfort.

- You have been prescribed Ofloxacin + Dexamethasone + Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye/ear.
- Do not skip any doses and complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better.
- Avoid touching the tip of the applicator to any surface, including your eye/ear, to prevent contamination.
- Consult your doctor if:
- Your symptoms do not improve within two days of starting treatment.
- Your symptoms worsen during treatment.
- You experience another eye/ear infection.
- If using Ofloxacin + Dexamethasone + Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose for the eye:
- Wait at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
- Do not wear contact lenses while using this medication.
- It may cause short-term blurring of vision when first used. Use caution before driving or operating machinery.
