Dapagliflozin and Vildagliptin are used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

How it Works

How Dapagliflozin and Vildagliptin Work Dapagliflozin and Vildagliptin is a combination of two antidiabetic medications. Dapagliflozin increases urinary glucose excretion and lowers blood glucose levels. Vildagliptin decreases the amount of glucose produced by the liver by raising insulin levels and reducing the levels of glucagon, the hormone that increases blood glucose levels.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Dapagliflozin and Vildagliptin include vaginal inflammation, balanitis, urinary tract infection, hypoglycemia (low blood glucose level), dizziness, tremors, headache, fatigue, nausea, rash, back pain, polyuria, increased hematocrit, decreased creatinine clearance, and dyslipidemia.
