How Crotamiton works Crotamiton belongs to two classes of medicines called antipruritics and scabicides. It works by killing the mites that cause scabies.

  • It should be used according to the dose and duration recommended by your doctor.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes, nose, or mouth. If contact occurs, rinse with water immediately.
  • Apply a thin layer of the medication all over the body and leave it on for 24-48 hours before taking a bath or shower.
  • Wash your hands before and after applying the medication.
  • If the condition persists after 14 days of treatment, the doctor may recommend an alternative treatment.

Remove makeup, wash and gently dry your hands and the affected area. Apply a thin layer of Crotamiton cream to the entire affected area using your fingertips. Wash your hands before and after application.
Crotamiton is used to treat scabies and relieve itching and skin irritation caused by conditions such as sunburn, dry eczema, dermatitis, allergic rashes, hives, chickenpox, heat rashes, insect bites, and personal itching.
