How Clotrimazole and Zinc Oxide work Clotrimazole and Zinc Oxide is a combination of two medicines: Clotrimazole and Zinc Oxide. Clotrimazole is an antifungal medication that kills and inhibits the growth of fungi by destroying their cell membranes, thereby treating your skin infection. Zinc Oxide creates a protective barrier and deflects UV rays from your skin (both UVA and UVB). It also soothes the skin and alleviates inflammation. Together, they effectively treat your infection.

Common side effects of Clotrimazole and Zinc Oxide include application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness.

- Clotrimazole + Zinc Oxide must be applied as a thin layer on the affected area as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not use this medicine more often or for a longer duration than advised by your doctor.
- Before each application, wash the affected area with soap and water and dry it thoroughly.
- Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, or nose. Rinse with cold water if accidental contact occurs.
- Do not cover the treated area with airtight dressings, such as bandages, unless directed by your doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
- Inform your doctor if the treated skin area does not improve after 2-4 weeks of treatment.
