How Clobetasol, Salicylic Acid, and Coal Tar Work Clobetasol, Salicylic Acid, and Coal Tar is a combination of three medicines used to treat psoriasis. Clobetasol is a steroid medicine that inhibits the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for making the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic Acid and Coal Tar are keratolytic agents that help break down keratin clumps, remove dead skin cells, and soften the skin.

Side Effects
