How Choline Salicylate and Tannic Acid Work Choline Salicylate and Tannic Acid is a combination of two medicines: Choline Salicylate and Tannic Acid. Choline Salicylate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) in the mouth. Tannic Acid is an astringent that forms a protective layer over mouth sores while exerting antiviral and antibacterial effects.

  • Choline Salicylate + Tannic Acid is used to treat painful mouth ulcers.
  • Apply the gel using a clean finger, massaging it onto the sore area no more than once every 3 hours.
  • Avoid eating and drinking immediately after applying Choline Salicylate + Tannic Acid.
  • Do not insert dentures or braces back into the mouth for at least half an hour after application.
  • Use a soft toothbrush after consulting your dentist.
  • Avoid spicy foods, acidic fruit drinks, and very salty foods (such as crisps), as they can exacerbate pain and stinging.
  • Do not smoke while using Choline Salicylate + Tannic Acid, as it may lead to side effects.
  • Consult your doctor if pain does not improve after using this medication for 7-14 days, or if symptoms worsen.
