Chlorpromazine, Trihexyphenidyl, and Trifluoperazine are used in the treatment of schizophrenia.

How it Works

How Chlorpromazine, Trihexyphenidyl, and Trifluoperazine work Chlorpromazine, Trihexyphenidyl, and Trifluoperazine is a combination of three medicines: Chlorpromazine, Trihexyphenidyl, and Trifluoperazine. Chlorpromazine is a typical antipsychotic that works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that influences thoughts and mood. Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic that acts on the nervous system to alleviate some side effects associated with antipsychotic treatment. Trifluoperazine is also a typical antipsychotic that blocks dopamine action, similarly affecting thoughts and mood.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Chlorpromazine, Trihexyphenidyl, and Trifluoperazine include nausea, sedation, dryness of the mouth, weight gain, dizziness, blurred vision, nervousness, and sleepiness.
