Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that alleviates cough by reducing the activity of the cough center in the brain. Menthol produces a sensation of coolness and alleviates minor throat irritation. Cetirizine is an antihistamine that relieves allergy symptoms such as runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Phenylpropanolamine is a sympathomimetic agonist that narrows blood vessels in the nose to relieve congestion.
