How Cetilistat works Cetilistat is a lipase inhibitor. It functions in the stomach and small intestine by blocking the absorption of fat from food, specifically by inhibiting the enzymes responsible for fat breakdown.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Cetilistat include fat in stool, abdominal cramps, flatus with discharge, oily spotting, bowel incontinence, flatulence, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and soft stools.

- Cetilistat is used to assist with weight loss in obese individuals.
- It should be combined with regular physical activity and a healthy diet.
- Take Cetilistat during or up to 1 hour after each meal.
- Skip your dose if you miss a meal or if your meal contains no fat.
- A multivitamin supplement containing vitamins A, D, and K is recommended while taking Cetilistat.
- It should not be taken for longer than six months.
- If you have not lost weight after 12 weeks of taking this medication, discontinue use and consult your doctor.
