How Docusate + Calcium Dobesilate works Docusate + Calcium Dobesilate is a combination of two medications: Docusate and Calcium Dobesilate. Docusate is a lubricant laxative that helps retain water and fat in the stools, making them soft, slippery, and easier to pass. Calcium Dobesilate is a vasoprotective medication that acts on the walls of small blood vessels, reducing their leakage and fragility. It also improves blood flow by decreasing the viscosity of blood, thereby alleviating inflammation (redness and swelling) in piles or hemorrhoids and promoting healing.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Docusate and Calcium Dobesilate include nausea, diarrhea, skin rash, fever, vertigo, headache, and rectal bleeding.
