How Bosutinib works Bosutinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used as an anti-cancer medication. It functions by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that promotes the growth and spread of cancer. This helps to stop or slow the progression of cancer cells.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Bosutinib include fatigue, edema (swelling), fever, headache, decreased appetite, joint pain, anemia (low number of red blood cells), back pain, increased creatinine levels in the blood, gastrointestinal toxicity, increased liver enzymes, increased pancreatic enzymes, increased glucose levels in the blood, decreased calcium levels in the blood, decreased phosphate levels in the blood, and itching.

- Bosutinib is used for the treatment of thyroid cancer.
- Take it with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
- Diarrhea may occur as a side effect; drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if it does not stop or if you notice blood in your stools.
- Use a reliable contraceptive method to prevent pregnancy while taking this medicine and for one month after discontinuation.
- Monitor your blood pressure regularly while on this medication.
- Inform your doctor if you notice symptoms of very high blood pressure, such as:
- Severe headache
- Confusion
- Vision problems
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- This medication may cause serious bleeding problems; inform your doctor if you experience:
- Headaches
- Stomach pain
- Blood in your urine or stools
- Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.
