Boric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Sulphacetamide, and Zinc Sulfate are used in the treatment of bacterial eye and ear infections.
How it Works
How Boric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Sulphacetamide, and Zinc Sulfate Work Boric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Sulphacetamide, and Zinc Sulfate is a combination of four medications: Boric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Sulphacetamide, and Zinc Sulfate. Boric Acid and Zinc Sulfate are antiseptics that treat bacterial infections in the eyes and relieve irritation. Sodium Chloride prevents bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient essential for bacterial multiplication. Sulphacetamide is a purified salt solution that works by drawing out water from the swollen cornea.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Boric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Sulphacetamide, and Zinc Sulfate include eye discomfort, eye irritation, and a burning sensation in the eye.
Expert Advice
- Use Boric Acid + Sodium Chloride + Sulphacetamide + Zinc Sulfate twice a day (in the morning and evening).
- If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest using this medication up to four times a day.
- To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it come into contact with your eye or any other surface.
- If the dropper tip touches any surface, squeeze out two or three drops immediately onto a tissue and rinse the tip with saltwater.
- In addition to using Boric Acid + Sodium Chloride + Sulphacetamide + Zinc Sulfate, apply warm compresses to your eyes/ears to relieve itching and other discomfort.
- Take care to avoid spreading the infection from one eye/ear to another and to other family members.
- Washing your hands regularly (especially after touching your eyes/ears) and not sharing towels or pillows will help prevent the infection from spreading.
