Naphazoline and Phenylephrine are decongestants that narrow the blood vessels in the eye to relieve inflammation, including redness and swelling. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that blocks the action of certain chemical messengers responsible for red, itchy, and teary eyes. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricating agent similar to natural tears, providing temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to dryness in the eye. Boric acid acts as an antiseptic, treating bacterial infections in the eyes and alleviating irritation. Menthol and camphor offer a cooling effect.
