Uses
Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Streptococcus thermophilus are used in the treatment of diarrhea, infectious diarrhea, and diarrhea associated with antibiotic use.
How it Works
How Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Streptococcus thermophilus work Upon oral administration, the bacteria in Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Streptococcus thermophilus help modulate the composition of the normal microflora and maintain adequate colonization of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT). Once colonized in the GIT, the probiotic bacteria form a protective barrier that helps preserve the integrity of the epithelial barrier. This barrier interferes with the attachment of pathogenic bacteria and other harmful substances, prevents inflammation, and improves gastrointestinal function.

- Stick to simple meals and avoid rich or spicy foods while taking Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Streptococcus thermophilus.
- Diarrhea can lead to water loss and electrolyte imbalance.
- Drink plenty of fluids to help maintain hydration.
- Take Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Streptococcus thermophilus at least 2 hours after any other medications, as it may interfere with their absorption.
- Consult your doctor if your symptoms persist for more than 48 hours.
