Biapenem is used in the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs).

How it Works

How Biapenem works: Biapenem inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the death of the bacteria.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Biapenem include rash, itching, diarrhea, nausea, increased alanine aminotransferase, increased aspartate aminotransferase, increased alkaline phosphatase levels in the blood, and increased white blood cell count (eosinophils).

Expert Advice

  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of epilepsy and are taking medications such as sodium valproate, as Biapenem may decrease the levels of valproic acid and potentially lead to the recurrence of epileptic seizures.
  • Notify your doctor if you have severe kidney disease before beginning treatment with Biapenem.
  • While taking this medication, maintain personal hygiene and ensure adequate hydration by drinking sufficient amounts of water.
