How Betamethasone and Salicylic Acid work Betamethasone and Salicylic Acid is a combination of two medicines used to treat eczema and psoriasis. Betamethasone is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause the skin to become red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medication that breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Betamethasone into the skin.

Common side effects of Betamethasone and Salicylic Acid include burning sensation, itching, skin pain, and dry skin.
