How Benzoic Acid, Hydrocortisone, and Salicylic Acid work Benzoic Acid, Hydrocortisone, and Salicylic Acid is a combination of three medicines: Benzoic Acid, Hydrocortisone, and Salicylic Acid. Benzoic Acid is an antiseptic. Hydrocortisone is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for making the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medicine that breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Hydrocortisone into the skin.

Common side effects of Benzoic Acid, Hydrocortisone, and Salicylic Acid include application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness.
