Benzalkonium Chloride acts as a preservative by preventing the growth of harmful microorganisms, thereby prolonging the shelf life of medicines. Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic that works by inhibiting the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This action prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, ultimately leading to their death.
