How Beclometasone and Salicylic Acid Work Beclometasone and Salicylic Acid is a combination of two medications used to treat eczema and psoriasis. Beclometasone is a steroid that inhibits the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for making the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic agent that breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. Additionally, it enhances the absorption of Beclometasone into the skin.
